「香港電影金像奬」自1982年創立至今已四十載，是香港歷史最悠久、最具代表性且最大規模的頒獎典禮，表揚每年表現傑出的香港電影人。「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」鐵定於後晚7月17日（周日）晚上假九龍灣國際展貿中心匯星隆重舉行，為2020及2021年有超卓表現的電影人加冕，本地電影界精英再次匯聚，將是全城焦點所在。

「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」以「金像四十 不惑如初」為主題，「香港電影像奬協會」（大會）今天特別舉行拜神儀式，董事局主席爾冬陞及董事局代表副主席莊澄、余安安、劉天蘭、文雋、田啟文、周國忠、韋啟良、陳樹幟及錢嘉樂等董事祈求盛事順利舉行。將於頒獎典禮上表演的兩位影壇生力軍、同樣榮獲本屆雙料提名的王丹妮及梁仲恆、大會指定電視台及電視製作伙伴香港電視娛樂有限公司ViuTV總經理鍾廣德、MakerVille行政總裁魯庭暉及製作部副總裁金廣誠亦親臨支持。

「香港電影金像奬」頒獎典禮一直受新型冠狀病毒疫情影響，2019年的「第三十九屆香港電影金像奬」僅由爾冬陞主席於網上公布結果，繼後為慶祝「金像四十」的籌備工作亦屢遇阻滯並一再延期，幸而經大會仝人不斷努力，實體頒奬典禮終告落實於今年7月17日再度舉行。爾主席透露「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」香港影壇新知舊雨雲集、星光璀璨，屆時除頒發十九項大獎外，並將兩個最高榮譽獎項「終身成就奬」及「專業精神奬」分別頒發予許冠文先生及周國忠先生；而銀幕新秀王丹妮及梁仲恆將在緬懷近兩年仙逝的電影人的環節獻唱，向前輩致敬。此外，大會亦邀得第三十九屆得獎人現身舞台分享得獎感受，並接受現場嘉賓祝賀。

「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」將於7月17日在免費電視頻道ViuTV 99台現場直播，並在第二聲道特設口述影像聲道，包括下午5時至7時之「紅地氈盛況」與晚上7時30分之頒獎典禮，廣大觀眾可一睹典禮盛況和見證各大獎項得主誕生。此外，ViuTV網絡平台（ViuTV流動應用程式及 ViuTV官方網頁https://viu.tv）將為「紅地氈盛況」及頒獎典禮全程提供口述影像聲道，而手語傳譯則於晚上7時30分起提供。有需要人士將可無障礙地欣賞本屆盛事，即時領略得獎者的感受和喜悅。

此外，大會作出特別安排，讓星馬影迷可同步收看「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」。星加坡付費電視平台Singtel TV的CM+ 及StarHub旗下的Hub E City，以及馬來西亞付費電視平台Astro及Unifi TV的天映頻道（Celestial Movies）均會直播頒獎典禮盛況；星加坡StarHub旗下的Hub E City也會直播紅地毯盛況。

「第四十屆香港電影金像奬」的資助機構為創意香港及電影發展基金，大會指定電視台及電視製作伙伴ViuTV及MakerVille，大會指定香水、化妝及護膚品贊助商法國嬌蘭、場地贊助億京發展及策劃有限公司以及耀目贊助溥儀眼鏡。



The Hong Kong Film Awards (“The Awards”), well established for 40 years, prides itself as the longest-standing, most iconic and the largest in scale film awards ceremony founded in 1982 in Hong Kong to recognise cinematic achievements of filmmakers yearly. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony is confirmed to take place on Sunday, 17 July 2022 at Star Hall at The Kowloonbay International Trade and Exhibition Centre (KITEC). Filmmakers with outstanding performance in the year of 2020 and 2021 will be honoured for their merits. The gala, packed with local film industry elites, will surely be an attention catching event in the city.

Hong Kong Film Awards Association (HKFAA) conducted a worship ritual today. It is hosted by Derek YEE Tung Sing, Chairman of Hong Kong Film Awards Association (HKFAA) and members of the Board of Directors Deputy Chairman John CHONG, Candice YU, Tina LIU, Manfred WONG, Tenky TIN, Tony CHOW Kwok Chung, Tomy WAI, Eddie CHAN & CHIN Ka Lok to pray for success for the gala event. New talents Louise WONG and LEUNG Chung Hang who will perform in the award ceremony; Clement CHUNG, General Manager of HK Television Entertainment Company Limited (ViuTV); Lofai LO, CEO and Kenneth KAM, Vice President of Production of MakerVille Company Limited also attended the event to show their support.

The Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony has been much affected by the persistent COVID-19 pandemic that the winner announcement of the 39th Hong Kong Film Awards was just conducted online by Chairman YEE. The preparations for celebrating the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards have also been interrupted and postponed. Fortunately, thanks to the persevering collective efforts of all HKFAA fellows, the award presentation ceremony is finally made possible and confirmed to take place on 17 July 2022. Chairman YEE revealed that the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards Presentation Ceremony will be a star-studded gathering of both familiar and new faces of the Hong Kong film industry. In addition to announcing the winners of the 19 competitive awards categories, two most honourable awards, the “Lifetime Achievement Award” and “Professional Achievement Award”, will be presented to Michael HUI and Tony CHOW Kwok Chung, respectively. New actress Louise WONG and new actor LEUNG Chung Hang will pay tribute in the in-memoriam session by dedicating a singing performance to the late filmmakers, artists and workers of the film industry who passed away in the last two years. HKFAA has also invited the winners of the 39th Hong Kong Film Awards to share their feeling of winning and accept compliments on stage.

The 40th Hong Kong Film Awards will be broadcast live on free-to-air ViuTV Channel No. 99 on July 17, with audio description service on the second audio track for the livestream of both pre- event “Red Carpet” from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and awards presentation ceremony starting 7:30pm. Audiences will be able to enjoy the glamourous award ceremony and witness the unvealing of award winners. ViuTV Online Platform (ViuTV mobile app and ViuTV official website: https://viu.tv) will also provide audio description service throughout the “Red Carpet” and the awards presentation ceremony, while live sign language interpretation service will be available starting from 7:30pm. Those in need of these services will be able to experience the live presentation ceremony and share the excitement and joyful moments of the award winners in real-time.

Moreover, HKFAA has made special arrangements for fans in Singapore and Malaysia to watch the live broadcast of the 40th Hong Kong Film Awards via the pay television platforms in both countries. In Singapore, the live broadcast will air on CM+ on Singtel TV and Hub E City on StarHub; while in Malaysia, the live broadcast is on Celestial Movies, available on both Astro and Unifi TV. Hub E City of StarHub will also broadcast the “Red Carpet” LIVE.
