The nominees for this years’ “Best Supporting Actress” Award include Harriet YEUNG, Patra AU, Ivana WONG, LIN Min Chen and Jennifer YU (sequence in accordance with HKFAA’s nomination list). Ivana WONG took home double trophies the “Best Supporting Actress” and “Best New Performer” at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards, while Patra AU also won the “Best Supporting Actress” award at the 39th Awards. In Table for Six, Ivana WONG played a girl who makes good use of her cooking talent to maintain the relationship between her younger boyfriend and his brothers. Patra AU has delivered a realistic performance as a willful and paranoid mother in The Narrow Road.

Jennifer YU has been nominated for Hong Kong Film Awards for several times. This year, she received her nomination for acting in Far Far Away as an agreeable, easygoing and good-looking “goddess” who dates a nerdy man. Harriet YEUNG played the sister of one of the leading role in The Sparring Partner who constantly defends her brother who is suspected to be involved in a murder case of dismemberment and mutilation. A big contrast to her comedic image, YEUNG’s restrained, subtle performance in the film rewarded her a nomination at the Hong Kong Film Awards for the first time. Malaysian actress LIN Min Chen is also the first-time nominee at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Playing the KOL Goddess “Ah Meow” in Table for Six, she won the judges’ recognition for her hilarious yet natural and adorable acting with her non-native tongue of Cantonese.

The 41st Hong Kong Film Awards is well supported and sponsored by various organizations, including Financial Supporter “Create Hong Kong” and “Film Development Fund”; Venue Sponsor “The Leisure and Cultural Services Department”; Official TV Production Partner and Broadcaster “ViuTV” and “MakerVille”; Official Limousine Sponsor “BMW”; Official Sponsor of Fragrances, Makeup and Skincare “Charlotte Tilbury”; Dazzling Sponsor “Puyi Optical”; English Magazine Partner “Tatler” and Chinese Magazine Partner “Vogue Hong Kong”.
