香港電影金像奬協會(大會)為本周日（14日）隆重舉行的國際華語影壇盛事「第四十二屆香港電影金像奬」印製的紀念特刊，於今日（10日）正式推出發售。

「第四十二屆香港電影金像奬」特刊由本屆金像奬美術總監文念中主導設計，封面以銀色為主調，封套選用銀色鐳射紙，翻動時幻彩躍動閃爍，配以青綠色的書面字體，代表衝勁及活力。文念中表示：「銀色令人聯想起閃閃生輝的美鑽，是優雅及永恆不變的象徵，永遠教人着迷，一如經典雋永的電影場面，長留在觀眾心中。」

本屆特刊設計概念以簡約、優雅的風格表現經典永恆，攝影師透過不同層次的光影組合設計，部份相片是以香港城市景觀特寫投射影像作為背景，增添電影感之餘更能突顯相中主角各自獨特氣質。特刊內容詳列出各大獎項提名名單，並刊出榮獲提名本屆「最佳男、女主角」、「最佳男、女配角」、「最佳新演員」、「最佳導演」、「新晉導演」等候選人，以及最崇高榮譽「終身成就獎」得主洪金寶及「專業精神奬」得主唐萍的造型照。

在內容方面，為配合特刊的主題，大會特備「永恆的一刻」篇章，刊出從歷屆金像奬得獎作品中挑選出多年來令人難忘的電影畫面，部份更連同經典對白一併刊出，與讀者重溫雋永一刻；在介紹「最佳新演員」最後五強：吳冰、陳諾霆、許月湘、何珀廉及謝咏欣的部份，附上每位年青演員親筆撰寫分享入圍喜悅的短文；而「新晉導演」候選人簡君晋、卓亦謙、祝紫嫣、吳煒倫及李子俊亦在「新導演筆記」中分享獲得提名的心情及工作誌記。（名字次序按其電影的中文片名筆劃排名）

此外，特刊精彩內容尚有「香港電影金像奬協會」主席爾冬陞親自執筆的「主席的話」、本屆「終身成就奬」得主洪金寶與「專業精神奬」得主唐萍數十載光影歲月的詳盡介紹，以及列出2023年4月至今年2月離世的電影工作者的簡介專頁，表達懷念及致敬。

The 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards, the renowned international Chinese-language film event will be grandly held on this Sunday, 14th April, 2024. The event organizer, the Hong Kong Film Awards Association (HKFAA) announced today that the Booklet is now available for sale in the public.

The design of the booklet for the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards is led by award-winning MAN Lim-Chung, Art Director of the event. The booklet cover features a predominant silver hue and the jacket is made of silver laser paper which shimmers when flipped through. The typography is in a vibrant chartreuse green colour, representing a feel of dynamics and vitality. MAN said, "Silver colour evokes the brilliance of sparkling diamonds, also symbolizes elegance and timeless allure, just like the captivating classic movie scenes that have deeply ingrained in audiences’ mind."

The design concept of this year's booklet embraces a style that combines minimalism and elegance to portray the essence of classic and timeless elements. The photographer employs different levels of light and shade combinations in the design, with some projected images of Hong Kong's cityscape as the background to add a cinematic touch as well as to highlight the uniqueness of the characters in the photos. The booklet provides a detailed list of the nominees for each award category, and publish the stylish portraits of the nominees for "Best Actor", "Best Actress", "Best Supporting Actor", "Best Supporting Actress", "Best New Performer", "Best Director" and “Best New Director"; as well as the recipient of the prestigious "Lifetime Achievement Award" Mr. Sammo HUNG and the recipient of the "Professional Achievement Award" Ms TONG Ping.

To complement the theme of the booklet, a special "Timeless Moments" section is dedicated to feature some memorable movie scenes selected from the past Hong Kong Film Awards winning entries, where some are accompanied by the corresponding classic dialogues, allowing readers to revisit and reminisce these timeless cinematic experiences. Moreover, the five nominees for the “Best New Performer”, namely NG Ping, Rondi CHAN, HUI Yuet Sheung, Curtis HO and Yoyo TSE, contribute their short articles to express the joy of their debut nominations in the "Best New Performer" section while the "Best New Director" nominees including Lawrence KAN, Nick CHEUK, Sasha CHUK, Jack NG, and Jonathan LI also share their feelings of being elected and personal work notes in the "Notes of New Directors" section. (listed in the order of the number of strokes of their respective Chinese film titles)

There is also "The Chairman's Message" by Derek YEE, Chairman of the Hong Kong Film Awards Association and the detailed coverage on the recipient of the "Lifetime Achievement Award," Mr. Sammo HUNG, and the recipient of the "Professional Achievement Award," Ms TONG Ping to highlight their decades-long contributions to the Hong Kong film industry. Moreover, some in-memoriam pages are dedicated to pay tribute and expressing remembrance to the late professionals of film industry who passed away between April 2023 and February this year.

The special booklets for the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards are available for sale starting today at DNA STORE Cultural (Hong Kong Cultural Centre), kubrick (Prosperous Garden, Yau Ma Tei), Golden Scene Cinema (Kennedy Town), the eslite bookstore (all branches), major newsstands, and the Cosmart website (https://www.cosmart.hk) at a set price of HK$100 per copy.
